The Snowcat
A story for Christmas
By
Helen Hadley
The Snowcat is a fun, Read TogetherBook for young children. It tells how Puss helps father Christmas find a way to deliver his Christmas presents when the reindeer go down with the flu.
The book is laid out like a play so that the story can be read by one person or shared by two, each reading a different character`s part.
Reading the book
- look through the book with your child
- Talk about the pictures, what does your child think is happening in them ?
- Read the story to your child, running your finger under the words as you read them
- When the child is familiar with the words, read the book together
- Do this several times so your child gets to know the words in the story
- When you think your child is ready, let them choose which character they want to read and read the story like a play
